Dorsal & Volar Plates for Complex Distal Radius Fractures

Orthopedic Implants and Instruments for Dorsal/Volar Plate

Dorsal Plates are designed for complex distal radius fractures that need to be addressed from the dorsal side. The plates are anatomically contoured and may help restore the bone[%]s natural anatomy from the distal ulna side. In addition, the distal cage of screws - with fixed angle locking technology - is designed to help support the fracture.Volar Plate injuries can occur when the proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint of a finger is hyper extended causing a ligament injury. Many of these injuries are frequently seen in athletes, especially ball-handling sports. The collateral ligament injury usually heals without difficulty, although scar tissue formation can occur in the healing of this ligament. The scar formation from the healing collateral ligament often results in enlargement on one side of the PIP joint leading to the appearance of a permanent bulge.
